Philips Celebrates 10 Years Of All Black Support

Philips New Zealand and the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) signed a special sponsorship agreement this week, which not only confirms Philips support of this year’s All Blacks’ campaign, but also marks 10 years of Philips sponsorship of the All Blacks.

The 2005 agreement will see Philips as the key sponsor for the All Blacks Trial, Fiji match and the home games during the Tri-Nations, while also an official sponsor of the All Blacks during the DHL Lions Series.

Philips CEO, Errol Mckenzie, says Philips is thrilled to reach this milestone of support for the country’s favourite sporting team.

“Ten years of commitment by Philips at this level signals an important relationship between us and the All Blacks. Since 1996 Philips has been the Philips Series sponsors and a supporter of the All Blacks as they take on opponents from all corners of the world. We’re really excited to be on board for what looks to be the most exciting season of New Zealand rugby yet!”

Mckenzie says Philips’ solid commitment to supporting the All Blacks, is mirrored by Philips commitment to offering customers state-of-the-art healthcare, lifestyle and technology products – designed with the end user in mind.

Mckenzie says whichever way you view it, Philips rugby sponsorship brings a new level of exciting international rugby to the New Zealand public, allowing them to experience the thrill of being part of the game for themselves.

New Zealand Rugby Union Chief Executive Chris Moller says the NZRU is equally excited about celebrating the decade-long sponsorship relationship.

“Philips have been an outstanding supporter of New Zealand Rugby and of the All Blacks, and we are delighted they have chosen to continue their support of the Philips Tri Nations, marking a decade of Philips’ involvement and of the competition itself.”
