After 3 days of play at the Indoor Cricket World Cup 2004 at Colombo Sri Lanka, the New Zealand Men’s Indoor Cricket team stand in 5th place, with the Women’s team coming in at 4th place.
The Men’s team have already played the favourites, host team Sri Lanka and number 1 ranked Australia. Both games were lost, however last night the New Zealanders had a convincing win over India 188/48. Remaining games are against England, South Africa and United Arab Emirates, before semi finals on Friday and finals on Saturday.
The Women’s team have recorded a win against India and losses to South Africa and Australia in the 3 games played to date.
Men’s team Captain Graham Murray said “While the team are naturally disappointed to have lost our first two matches, the boys are fired up about the up coming games and confident of we’ll get into the semis.”
