Congratulations Ruia!
Waatea host Ruia Aperahama wins Best Maori Album at the 2004 Music Awards for his latest release Hawaiki.
Waatea Program Director Toi Iti says "We are very proud of Ruia and his latest achievement. The promotion of contemporary Maori music is a major kaupapa for Waatea and we are honored to have him as an integral part of our broadcasting team."
Ruia hosts two shows on Waatea 603am.
"Piri Wiri Tua" which airs Monday to Friday 12-3pm, is a magazine style show with a strong focus on Maori music and is 100% Te Reo Maori.
"Ae Marika Yes!", an upbeat bi-lingual entertainment show co-hosted by Stephanie Pohe, broadcasts 7-9pm Sundays.
