The Allenko Brotherhood Ensemble is a project conceived and produced by Paris based Comet Records. A fusion between Tony Allen's unique drumming and some of the worlds best contemporary musicians/producers. The Strike Boys are Germany’s answer to Rockers Hi Fi and his track hails Danish Soul-Reggae-Dub sensation “EMO” straight from the Stereo Deluxe family who understands with ease the nonchalant vibe The Strike Boys personify. This track like the others on their album ‘Playtime’ is a blend of pure groove, funk, electro dub and soul. www.thestrikeboys.com

THE RED EYES
The Red-Eyes are a 10-piece dub/reggae juggernaut who have been bubbling under the Melbourne scene for some time, gaining a cult following with their powerful, hypnotic sound and commanding stage presence. Simon Park plays guitar and this track is engineered by Andrew Williams. Expect more from this fresh duo in the coming months. Previously unreleased.
09. PROTEAN CHARACTER
CARL HANCOCK RUX
Throughout his career, multi-disciplinary artist Carl Hancock Rux has also borrowed from various traditions in order to offer heartfelt and innovative art, tapping deep into his soul and psyche to bring forth works of art and beauty that are universal in their scope and startling in their intensity and originality. This haunting track is taken from ‘Apothecary Rx’ - the sophomore CD from Rux, and his full-length debut on leading NYC independent label Giant Step Records. Filled with vision, beats, majesty and memories, the CD encompasses everything from gospel to hip hop, rock to jazz and, as a result, sums up the breadth of Carl's sonic inspirations and possibilities. Additional track info: Life's more ephemeral states of being and (un)consciousness make their presence felt in the fever dream that is "Protean Character," a mournful blue light basement doo-wop with horns and dreamy soprano back-up vocals, co-written with friend and neighbour Mark Anthony Thompson a/k/a Chocolate Genius. The haunting song is an admission we may all relate to: "I bleed inside/ I feel inside this spirit of dissension, rides in easy-- not loud...I'm a protean character like the ones who live in fantasy."
10. RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF YOU

12. STAND ALONE
EMMA PAKI
After the initial success of the critically acclaimed debut album album 'Oxygen Of Love'Emma Paki has been off the radar. This is the first released recording from one of New Zealand’s true gems in over 5 years. She first recorded at age 19 in 1988 a song called 'Wanea Ngakau' (Deep Emotion) that four years later was favoured by student and maori radio. Then her single 'System Virtue' cleaned up at the 1993 New Zealand Music Awards winning 'Best Songwriter', 'Most Promising Female Vocalist' and 'Best Video'. Her single 'Greenstone', produced by Neil Finn, charted to #5 on the New Zealand Charts and won her a nomination for 'Best Female Vocalist' in the 1994 New Zealand Music Awards. Her debut album 'Oxygen Of Love', produced by Crowded House and Supertramp’s Mark Hart, released in 1996 reached Gold status in New Zealand. The album gained Emma a second nomination for 'Best Female Vocalist' & also 'Best Album' in the Entertainer of the Year Awards in 1996, with her winning the 'Mana Maori' Award.
13. LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND
AGE PRYOR
Age Pryor and his newly formed band 'The Marvellous Medicine' have rerecorded the song ‘Leave it all Behind’ from the album ‘City Chorus’. Age Pryor’s album ‘City Chorus’ was recently nominated for best down beat release in this years up coming b-net awards. Rip it Up magazine said ‘City Chorus’ is “exquisitely produced ambient pop-scape” and The Sunday Times said; “Repeated listening reveals a breezy innocence that is unusual and appealing especially on ‘Curious Boy’ and album standout All is Good”. www.agepryor.co.nz
14. SOMETIMES STONES (GREEN ROOM MIX)
TOMMY
‘Sometimes Stones’ is the mellow first single from Tommy’s debut album ‘4000 Years’, which is due for release through LOOP on October 4th 2004. Whilst Tommy’s album maintains the familiar flavour of previous LOOP releases, the arrival of Tommy to LOOP signposts the label’s broadening scope to the adult contemporary audience. Tommy morphs the moods of reggae, rock, soul & a dash of pop in a melodic melting pot to form their ‘folk roots’ sound. Tommy will be touring NZ in October 2004 & have 2 more less mellow singles planned for release. www.tommy.bz
