Tidy your room! It could be on TV...
Every kid wants to be on TV. But from your own room?
If you're aged between seven and 14, here's your big chance to present your own TV show from your very own bedroom.
The Nickelodeon channel is launching New Zealand's first-ever Nick Takes Over Your Room competition.
Nickelodeon is looking for two kids' rooms to take over and turn into television studios - with the rooms' residents as hosts.
The winning duo will show hundreds of thousands of viewers in 13 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region how great we are in front of the TV cameras.
Nickelodeon's vice president, marketing and communications, Lucy Young, says the presenters will be able to guide viewers through their rooms, point out favourite posters, introduce friends and family, play some games and generally show off their 'space'.
"It's part of our kids first approach, involving children in the creative process and making them feel respected, listened to, appreciated and important.
"It's heaps of fun. If you think your room's got what it takes, send us a photo of you in it and tell us in less than 100 words why Nickelodeon should take it over," Ms Young says.
The two-hour show will be screened during September on Nickelodeon (SKY digital channel 42).
SKY TV's Manager of Entertainment Programming, John Cowsill, says the network is delighted to connect with Kiwi kids, bringing them creative and humorous entertainment in conjunction with the Nickelodeon channel.
There are two grand prizes in the promotion. As well as hosting their own show on Nickelodeon, the two winners each get $1,000 worth of furniture or decoration for their rooms plus a hamper of prizes from Nickelodeon and Hasbro.
