YOEL LEVI conductor with DIEDRE IRONS piano & STEPHEN KOVACEVICH piano
The NZSO welcomes the return of both Yoel Levi, Principal Guest Conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director Emeritus of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and London-based pianist Stephen Kovacevich, in a concert of music from the heart of the repertoire.
Also joining Maestro Levi will be pianist Diedre Irons, recently appointed Head of Piano Studies at Victoria University's School of Music, who has become a vital part of the New Zealand music scene.
Both these pianists are highly renowned for their interpretations of the Classical Repertoire, especially Beethoven. Of Kovacevich, the Financial Times wrote "...the pianist produced the sort of playing that now places him among the world's small number of reigning Classical masters."
