Kiwis Like Sex - But What Really Turns Us On?

KIWIS LIKE SEX - BUT WHAT REALLY TURNS US ON?

Who will take the crown from Jeremy 'Newsboy' Wells as New Zealand's sexiest celebrity? Will Mandy Smith or Nicky Watson hold the title this year?

All will be revealed with the return of the Durex Global Sex Survey.

The 2004 Durex Global Sex Survey is now online at www.durex.com. Kiwis have until mid-July to reveal a range of sexual secrets, from what they find sexy and how often they're doing it, to where and how they like it.

In 2003 Durex discovered that Kiwis are keener lovers than Aussies, having sex on average 130 times per year compared to Australia's average of 125. However, while we like lots of action, more than one-third of Kiwis admitted to having had unsafe sex with a new partner in the past 12 months.

More than 150,000 people took part in 2003's survey, making the Durex Global Sex Survey the largest study of sexual attitudes and behaviour globally, and this year more than 40 countries are expected to participate.

Victoria Potter, Durex NZ Manager, says the Durex Global Sex Survey uncovers details about New Zealanders' sex lives that may otherwise remain private.

"The survey is a fun way to expose what Kiwi lovers are really getting up to - last year's survey revealed that almost two-thirds of Kiwi women have faked an orgasm, which is twice the global average," says Ms Potter. "In the past, Kiwis have been willing to disclose both light-hearted and serious facts about their sex lives, and we expect a high level of participation again this year."

Everyone who completes the survey goes in the draw to win an Apple iPod mini and the first 500 survey respondents will also receive a free sample of the new Durex Pleasuremax condom - the first-ever ribbed and dotted condom in New Zealand.

The Durex Global Sex Survey results will be released in October 2004.
