A New Face in Auckland
NZ On Air has a new representative ‘on the ground’ in Auckland, the agency announced today. Kathryn Quirk has just been appointed Auckland Client Relations Manager, and will take up the position in a few weeks.
“We’re delighted to have secured Kathryn’s services,” said NZ On Air Chief Executive Jo Tyndall, “she has a wealth of expertise and experience in television production, broadcasting, and a number of related fields, and we’re lucky to have someone of her calibre on board.”
Ms Quirk has been involved in the television production industry since the early 1980s. During that time, she has held a number of roles with TVNZ and independent producers, and she has also worked in advertising.
“NZ On Air has funding relationships with a large number of producers, broadcasters, and other industry organisations in Auckland, so, as we signalled in our five-year strategic plan and Statement of Intent last year, the decision was made to establish a permanent liaison presence there,” Ms Tyndall said.
“We were looking for a particular mix of skills and expertise, and Kathryn fits the bill extremely well.
“While Kathryn’s key responsibilities will be in the television area, she will also become involved in our radio, music, archiving, and other activities,” said Ms Tyndall.
“The response from the industry in Auckland to the prospect of having a local NZ On Air representative in the city has been very positive, and from our perspective, Kathryn’s work will help us to forge and develop even closer relationships. That can only be good,” she said.
