Skycity “Sky High” Jackpot Strikes Again
Skycity “Sky High” Jackpot Strikes Again During Big Winner Weekend
Rounding off a weekend of big winnings, SKYCITY Auckland’s “Sky High Slots” jackpot paid out over $800,000 on Saturday night (10 April 2004) when it went off at around midnight.
A 39-year-old man from Auckland was the lucky winner, hitting the biggest jackpot paid by SKYCITY Auckland so far this year.
The win follows a lucky Easter weekend for large cash winnings around the country with the biggest ever Lotto win of nearly $15 million also on Saturday night (10 April 2004).
In addition, there were a number of other jackpots won at SKYCITY over the Easter weekend, including major car prizes. On Easter Sunday, a Mt Roskill man won the “Treasure Zone” major prize of a Holden Commodore, the Porsche Boxster on the “Win this Car” jackpot was won by a Mt Eden resident and a brand new Mazda 6 didn’t even make it to the display platform when it was won by a Manurewa resident later that evening.
SKYCITY Auckland’s “Sky High Slots” jackpot has previously produced large jackpots of over $1.2 million on August 30th 2002 and over $250,000 a few days later on September 4th 2002. It was last won at just over $1 million on October 2nd 2003.
The “Sky High Slots” bank of gaming machines, which produced the jackpot, is linked to 22 different gaming machines on the main gaming floor of SKYCITY. The jackpot starts at $250,000 and can be struck at any time by betting a $3 spin.
Meanwhile, SKYCITY Hamilton is gearing up to celebrate its 100th car give away which will soon be up for grabs on the “Win This Car” Jackpot. The complex currently has car number 99 waiting to be won and is excited about being so close to the 100th car milestone since opening in September 2002. To celebrate the occasion, the 100th car to be given away will be one of the most expensive vehicles to date for SKYCITY Hamilton - a new Mercedes-Benz C 200 K Sports Coupe valued at over $70,000.
The largest casino
jackpot ever won in New Zealand, was won at SKYCITY’s “Sky
High Slots” gaming machines in May 2000 when an Auckland man
won $1.99
million.
