A LOW HUM is back!
From humble beginnings as a monthly black and white photocopied "much loved fanzine" (Staple in Jan 03), A Low Hum has taken the incredible step from "xeroxed 'zine" to become a properly produced magazine with compilation CD.
"The first issue dropped in Jan '03 and has accumulated a large fanbase, so you better be in quick" (The Package 2003)
MAGAZINE
"A Low Hum has very quickly become a well respected music rag in cities around NZ - in fact, good luck finding a copy because issues are usually snaffled up in a day" (Tearaway 2003)
As a 'zine, A Low Hum gained respect from all sides of the industry and the bands it talked about. With the dramatic, encouraging response from readers across the country to the early issues, and with support from top New Zealand bands, A Low Hum will continue to develop its support for New Zealand. A Low Hum will be available through out New Zealand as well as several countries overseas.
CD
The new A Low Hum also makes another new move: being distributed with a specially compiled CD of the finest New Zealand music, including occasional selections of special overseas artists, which will also be featured in the magazine.
TOURS
A Low Hum will also launch each issue at live music venues at various cities around New Zealand taking a different independent New Zealand band on a nationwide tour, made possible with the help of the good people at Jack Daniels. The first release tour will feature Batrider with local support.
Tour Dates for A Low Hum are:
15 April Nelson, Phat Club: Batrider with guests Dappled Cities Fly (AUS) and Johnny Christ. 16 April Dunedin, Arc: Batrider with guests The Steffan Van Soest Hit Machine.
