175 East Concerts in June 2004

175 East Concerts in June 2004

Hello 175 East list people

Time to give you some advance notice of 175 East's forthcoming concerts in June. All concerts feature brand new works written especially for us by NZ composers Rachel Clement, Dorothy Ker and Dylan Lardelli, and British composers Bryn Harrison and James Saunders.

But there's more! Each concert will include a unique selection of microscores-pieces lasting no longer than 30 seconds, all written for the 2004 concert series.

If you consider yourself a composer, remember that the deadline for the microscores is April 30, so get scribbling or sequencing! More details on microscore submissions are here: http://www.175east.co.nz/microscores2004.html

The concert dates and venues are as follow:

8pm Saturday June 12 The Southern Ballet Theatre The Arts Centre Christchurch

8pm Sunday June 13 HAPPY (corner Tory and Vivian Streets) Wellington

8pm Sunday June 27 Hopetoun Alpha Beresford Street Auckland

Tickets (door sales only) $15, $10 (concs)

These prices are held at 1997 levels thanks to funding from Creative New Zealand.

We hope you will join us to experience the magnificence that is 175 East live.

Note: If you no longer wish to be on this list, or have a more up-to-date address please e-mail the above address and let us know so we can sell your e-mail address to spammers as an additional revenue stream. It's one way of weaning ourselves off the teat of State Arts Funding...
