Christmas Comes To Cathedral Square
Free Lunchtime Concerts, December 22nd, 23rd and 24th , Cathedral Square.

Christmas week has a charming start this year in Cathedral Square, when the New Zealand Secondary School Students Chamber Choir will sing a range of choral music from many periods including medieval and modern, with the occasional jazz and Samoan song adding variety and interest.

The Chamber Choir have performed in Rotorua, Dunedin and Southland and will add Christmas songs to their repertoire on Monday December 22nd, from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.

Tuesday 23rd brings a performance by the Christmas Belles to Cathedral Square from 12noon to 12.30pm. Anna and Ashleigh are both Middleton Grange students, and they share a love of performing and music.

The Christmas Belles are joined by Ahi Ka, a local three piece R'n'B and Hip Hop band, featuring David Butterfield , Te Rau o-te-rangi Winterburn and Shaun Taiaki.

Their personal philosophy is 'Eternally striving to create a happier world with music that is born from te whakaaro kotahi', and Ahi Ka promise to add cultural pride to our Christmas week, from 12.40pm to 1.25pm.

Popular local a'cappella group The Canterbury Plainsman perform on Wednesday December 24th, Christmas Eve Day. With 15 years experience singing mellow 4 part harmonies, they present a wide variety of songs from Broadway shows, Musical Theatre, and a sprinkling of Christmas Music.

The Canterbury Plainsmen perform from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.

ENDS.
