Grunty prizes for technicians at Motor Show

A Teng Tools 1001 set worth $11,000 is just one of the amazing prizes up for grabs in the New Zealand National Motor Show’s inaugural Spanner Man Competition.

The quest for New Zealand’s most talented automotive technician is underway, with entry forms available online at www.nzmotorshow.co.nz.

But don’t be fooled by the fun aspect to Spanner Man - it’s a serious competition, testing the entrant’s technical skill, theory and attitude through a number of spectator-friendly heats. The nine heats include Bridgestone/Firestone top tyre changer, diagnosing an engine fault, virtual rally racing, car-lovers quiz – and plenty more to be confirmed.

The public will have a chance to meet each of the seven finalists during a midday heat at the centre stage on Saturday 20 March 2004.

Each of the finalists will be selected by a skilled judging panel and will receive a National Motor Show “survival pack” of industry goodies including their competition uniform of Dickies overalls.

The competition is open to any person currently employed as an automotive technician in New Zealand. It’s a great way to fly the flag for your employer or company, so tidy up your toolboxes and send your application today to be in to win!
