Appointment - Executive Manager, Film Auckland

APPOINTMENT - EXECUTIVE MANAGER, FILM AUCKLAND

The Film Auckland Advisory Board announced the appointment of Natasha Christie as its Executive Manager today.

Natasha brings to the role extensive marketing, business development and sponsorship experience in tourism and television both here and in the US.

Her television credits include the award winning primetime travel series, travel.co.nz (TV3 - Producer), Africa Overland (TV3 - Post Director/ Production Manager), Little People/ Big Tahuna (TV3 - Production Manager) and Holiday (BBC - Production Manager).

Early in her career, Natasha worked in tourism and advertising. She spent two years in LA managing Incentives and Conventions for the NZ Tourism Board before returning to New Zealand in 1995 to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Communication.

Film Auckland Advisory Board Chairman, Tim Coddington was excited by the calibre of candidates applying for the position. He said that Natasha's mix of industry and tourism experience was a perfect fit for the role, which will see her promoting the Auckland region as a screen production destination to the rest of the world.

Film Auckland's vision is for a vibrant, growing screen production industry in the Auckland region. The Executive Manager's role is to promote the region and also, to provide a focal point for initiatives that develop regional industry capability.

The Film Auckland Advisory Board (made up of industry leaders and funding body representatives) has spent the past 12 months developing the film office infrastructure. Natasha's appointment, to commence in January 2004, enables Film Auckland to become fully operational.
