Battle For The Crown Of Best On The Box

NZ TV Stars Begin The Battle For The Crown Of Best On The Box

Nominations are out and voting has begun for New Zealand's hottest stars and shows in TV Guide's 2003 Best on the Box People's Choice Awards.

The big question is can golden couple Alison Mau and Simon Dallow hold on to their crowns of sexiest man and sexiest woman - two of the most hotly contested titles - or will these be snatched by some hot and hip newcomer?

It's old favourites pitted against new talent and it is up to New Zealanders to decide who they think the country's top actors, presenters, comedies, dramas and news shows are in the biggest annual poll on New Zealand television.

TV Guide editor, Antony Phillips, says that with the nominations out, the competition is getting hot in the lead up to next month's glitzy awards ceremony.

"Scooping a Best on the Box award means a lot to these stars as they are the people's choice awards, voted for by readers of the TV Guide and managers of the remote control," says Phillips. "By winning one of the categories the stars know that they have pleased their toughest critics."

TV Guide will be rolling out the red carpet as celebrities descend upon Auckland on December 11th to hear the winners announced at the inaugural TV Guide Best on the Box People's Choice Awards ceremony being held at (please insert exact name of venue)

Voting forms for the TV Guide Best on the Box People's Choice Awards are available now in the TV Guide and online polling is at http://www.thetvguide.co.nz/
