Wintec Media Arts Department showcases the year's top works
Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) is to stage a series of exhibitions in a celebration of student work undertaken
during 2003.
The exhibitions will be held over Thursday November 20 and Friday November 21 at Wintec's Media Arts Department in
Collingwood Street and in various inner city venues. Some viewings will have extended seasons.
Wintec Media Arts Head of Department, Margi Moore, said the work represents the range of disciplines offered in Media
Arts and clearly demonstrates their ability to collaborate in this exciting intermedia environment as well as showcasing
individual innnovation.
"Our graduates are amongst some of the most successful in their fields, in New Zealand and further afield. Their work is
recognised for its professionalism and quality. These shows clearly illustrate why that is. The students and their
tutors work tremendously hard to achieve these outcomes and we are justifiably proud of all of them," she said.
The exhibitions show a diverse range of photography, painting and sculpture, graphic design, animation, digital media
design, and illustration, with two screenings of short films by moving image students at Rialto cinema. Finally, there
is the launch of a CD of the commercial music students 'compositions.
