The results from the latest European regattas indicate that things are on track for New Zealand's boardsailing Olympic prospects. Barbara Kendall has won the women's boardsailing class of the Saronic Gulf regatta and Jon-Paul Tobin has finished 2nd in the Men's division.
Both Kendall and Tobin will be competing at the Athens 2003 Regatta (Test Event) with racing commencing on Wednesday 20th August.
Yachting New Zealand's High Performance Manager, Peter Lester comments, "these results indicate that both Barbara and Jon-Paul have acclimatised well to the conditions in Athens and will be looking forward to the test event next week".
In the Laser class fleet, Andrew Murdoch has finished in 3rd place overall, with Michael Bullot in 9th place and Robbie McMillan in 13th in the 40 competitor fleet.
