New Chief
Executive For Broadcasting Standards Authority
Jane
Wrightson, the chief executive of the Screen Production and
Development Association, has been appointed chief executive
of the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
Ms Wrightson has had more than 20 year experience in the broadcasting and screen sector, including positions as deputy chief executive of New Zealand On Air, the chief film censor and the commissioning editor for Television New Zealand.
The Authority’s chairperson, Peter Cartwright, said that Ms Wrightson was selected from a field of excellent candidates.
“Jane’s working experience in the broadcasting sector, her experience in managing a highly focussed and professional team, her knowledge of public sector processes and her clear leadership qualities are all compelling reasons why the Authority considers Jane is the right person for the job,” Mr Cartwright said.
Ms Wrightson, who will take up her new position in mid August, replaces Evan Voyce who resigned to become Chief of Staff for the Office of the Mayor of Wellington. In the meantime, the Authority will be managed by the complaints manager, Dr Michael Stace.
