What's on at Bats

FOLD by Jo Randerson

Set among five grisly birthday celebrations arranged and grimly enjoyed by five jaundiced and peculiar partygoers, this unnerving and disturbingly amusing little play, a Young and Hungry Festival hit in 1995, returns more terrifying than ever.

You don't want to miss this fantastic black comedy brim full with semi-clothed acquaintances that degenerate into a chaotic soup of insecurity, obsession and scary self-analysis.

The clever cast & crew comprise of Paul Sullivan, Gentiane Lupi, Heather O'Carroll, Ben Fransham, James Stewart, Irene Flanagan, Conrad Newport, Jean Betts, David Lawrence and Steve Gallagher and watch out for the cat!

Jo Randerson has written over 20 plays and has published two books - The Knot and The Spit Children. Her short stories have been published in journals and anthologies, and FOLD is due to be published very soon in tandem with Pip Hall's play SHUDDER by The Play Press. Watch out for the book launch next month at BATS.

Season: Thursday 24 April Saturday 3 May (no show Sunday) Time: 8pm Tickets: $15 / $10 Bookings: (04) 802-4175 / mailto:book@bats.co.nz or just hit reply.
