Bond rising star of World Cup

New Zealand's Shane Bond is the rising star of the cricket World Cup tournament, climbing 31 places up the PricewaterhouseCoopers world one-day cricket ratings.

Bond has soared from 42nd at the start of the tournament to 11th on the bowling list. Daryl Tuffey, largely unwanted in the tournament, has slipped six places to 17th.

Black Caps skipper Stephen Fleming has risen 14 places to 22nd on the batting list, two spots ahead of Nathan Astle.

India's Sachin Tendulkar has returned to the top of the PwC one-day ratings. Australia's Matthew Hayden, who was top at the start of the World Cup, has slipped to third.
