Auckland ‘On the Up’ Stylists Prepare to Stun Wella YPS Judges

WHO? One hundred and six young hairdressers competing in Wella YPS 2003 Auckland regional heat.

WHEN? Sunday March 16, from 11.30am.

WHERE? The Staircase, K’Rd Auckland.

HOW MANY? Twelve regional heats will be held during March and April to find over 20 finalists. Heats will be held in the following regions: Auckland – Sunday, March 16 Whangarei – Monday, March 17 Hamilton – Tuesday, March 18 Tauranga – Wednesday, March 19 Nelson – Sunday, March 30 Christchurch – Sunday, March 30 Dunedin – Monday, March 31 Invercargill – Tuesday April 1 Wellington – Sunday, April 6 Napier – Monday, April 7 Palmerston North – Tuesday, April 8 New Plymouth – Wednesday, April 9 National Final – Saturday, June 21.

WHAT IS YPS? The Wella YPS Awards are designed to push and promote the natural talent, uniqueness, imagination and style of New Zealand’s ‘On the Up’ stylists.

WHY? For the past 12 years Wella New Zealand has structured the Wella YPS Awards to help nurture and reward budding local talent through national and international exposure while providing all important competition experience.

PRIZE POOL: Each regional winner receives a certificate, a complete range of Wella High Hair styling products, entry to the national final with airfares and accommodation for them and a model courtesy of Wella.

The overall Wella YPS 2003 winner will receive a prize package including worldwide travel and the prestigious Wella YPS 2003 trophy and certificate.
