The Golden Successes Continue for Sacred Hill Wines.

The Sydney International Wine Competition produced another gold for Sacred Hill. The Sacred Hill Brokenstone 2000 shone once again, winning a Blue Gold award effectively placing it as one of the top 10% of wines judged at the tasting. This award augments the trophy and gold medal the Sacred Hill Brokenstone Merlot 2000 won earlier in the year at the Liquorland Top100 wine competition.

Winemaker Tony Bish comments ”These results reflect our ongoing commitment to producing individualistic premium wines. The trophy and gold medals collected by the 2000 Brokenstone Merlot has rewarded many years of dedication to the production of hand crafted and individually styled wines that marked the progress of the company and the maturity of the wine making processes.”

The Sydney International Wine Competition is renown for its high number of entrants and unique in its focus on wine and food pairing. The main objective of the competition is to offer consumers independent information to help in choosing wines most likely to enhance the pleasure of the daily dining experience.

Wines awarded with blue gold medals are promoted through a series of wine tastings, banquet dinners as well as extensive promotion on the official competition web site. The official ceremonial announcement of the competition’s results will take place in early March 2003 in Sydney.

Another pleasing aspect of the Sydney show results was the ‘Highly Recommended’ received for the Sacred Hill Marlborough Vineyards Riesling 2002. This equates to a medal and places the wine in the top 12.5% of wines judged. The wine also received honours at the Liquorland Top100, winning a Silver medal on debut.
