First Day Of Quarter Finals Repechage

First Day Of Quarter Finals Repechage - No Wind Today, Third Postponement In A Row.
Another frustrating day for all the teams competing in the Louis Vuitton Cup 2002-2003 quarter finals repechage, raced on a best of seven series. Today the lack of wind forced the Race Committee to postpone race one for the third consecutive time in a row. The weather conditions on the Hauraki Gulf have been very unstable so far: yesterday the Race Committee had to postpone the matches due to the excess of wind, while two days ago it was the lack of wind to force the delay. Today the Committee and the competing teams waited until 15:45 on the race course hoping for the breeze to build. All racing is therefore postponed to tomorrow, weather permitting. The outlook is not promising, as a ridge of high pressure is building onto the North Island; winds from NE up to 5 knots are expected tomorrow. The situation should improve slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, but on Friday more light winds are expected.
