QUOTES FROM TEAM PRADA
A day of rest for Team Prada with an unexpected bye today, waiting for tomorrow's match against the Italians of Mascalzone Latino. This match was originally scheduled on October 7, but was postponed to the end of Round Robin One due to the lack of wind.
The Race Committee announced at 13:55 that all racing scheduled for today is abandoned and postponed to tomorrow due to the high winds gusting to 45 knots. All racing will resume tomorrow at 10.30. All flights will be sailed over the 12.5 mile Course B instead of the 18.5 mile Course A. The Race Committee will start the remaining three matches from Flight 6 first. After those races have been completed, the two matches from Flight 5 will be sailed, which include the match between Luna Rossa and Mascalzone Latino. No racing will start after 16.00.
A few Prada team members comment on tomorrow's much awaited "Italian derby".
Paolo Bassani, bowman on Luna Rossa: "Up until now the only derby I knew of was the one between Inter and Milan, two top Italian soccer teams, as I am a supporter of Inter. Now, thanks to the America's Cup and because of Mascalzone Latino, I am the one who is directly involved in a derby match, the one between the two Italian teams competing in this edition of the Louis Vuitton Cup. We will tackle tomorrow's race with the same determination as always, knowing that having so far scored only three points, tomorrow's point is very important for our team. The weather forecast for tomorrow is not very good, but I still hope we are able to race in good wind conditions".
Max Sirena, mid bowman on Luna Rossa: "Racing against another Italian team will obviously generate much more interest from the Italian public. Back home there will probably be two different factions, one supporting Luna Rossa and the other Mascalzone. We will just do our best with one goal in mind, to score another point".
