Meet the TUAMAN tomorrow in Manukau
This Saturday provides the Auckland public with a rare opportunity to meet world-class heavyweight boxer, and one of Manukau’s favourite sons, David Tua.
A special TUAMAN promotion has been organised in Westfield Shoppingtown Manukau, where David will meet his fans & sign autographs. A huge screen in the central atrium will feature action replays from David’s famous wins, while fans will be able to purchase exclusive TUAMAN merchandise and enjoy high-quality entertainment from local artists.
The TUAMAN promotion will run throughout the day, with David in the Manukau Mall from 10am – 2pm to meet the public, and also to display some of his ‘out of the ring’ talents.
David enjoys a variety of creative pursuits including music and poetry. He is bringing his guitar along with him to Westfield Shoppingtown Manukau this Saturday, for a guitar jam with good friend and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Daniel Codling.
The TUAMAN promotion will also feature performances from Mangere artists – promising Hip-Hop RnB group, Soul Syndicate, and singer-songwriter, Teina.
Proud South Aucklander David Tua wanted to give something personal back to his fans & therefore offered to stage a special promotion in Manukau before heading back to the United States in early October to prepare for his next fight on 30 November.
David bounced back into the top tier of world boxing on the 18th of August with a first round knockdown of former world champ, Michael Moorer. The fight demonstrated why David is rated as the hardest hitter in the heavyweight division, when he floored Moorer with a right hand 30 seconds into the first round.
The resounding nature of this win has propelled David back near the top of the heavyweight division. He is currently ranked in the top ten in each of the major boxing divisions – being the number 3 contender in the IBF, number 4 in the WBO, number 5 in the WBC and number 8 in the WBA.
Come and meet David Tua, his trainer Kevin Barry & other key TUAMAN personnel this Saturday at Westfield Shoppingtown Manukau. Be sure to check out the latest TUAMAN gear and enjoy some homegrown entertainment from Teina, Soul Syndicate and the Tuaman himself.
