Leading the haka in showcasing fresh NZ Music to the next level, Radio Active 89FM is broadcasting 4 premium tracks through our international connections - the renowned UK radio show of Gilles Peterson Worldwide.
With homegrown soundscapes provided by TrinityRoots, Dei Hamo, Confucius & Sola Rosa, the next NZ broadcast of the WW Family Mix is mashed by our own Programme Director Carlito Jackson aka DJ Grasshopper, production by the Black Seeds frontman Barnaby Weir and freestyling by MC Imon Star. Another Radio Active 89FM WW Family Mix will also be presented by the legendary Jewel School (broadcast date TBC).

Now, one of the most popular radio shows in Wellington, Gilles Peterson Worldwide bought to you courtesy of the Matterhorn on Radio Active 89FM, is a weekly audio experience of the freshest and phattest world sounding jazzy soul tinged downbeat eclectic mixes as chosen by the said selector.
Wanting to encapsulate the breadth of quality music from around the planet, London based Gilles decided to initiate a "Worldwide Family" project which allowed selectors from the above stations to submit their own show - giving the opportunity for the rest of the world to showcase their particular flavour in the GP tip.
Lucky and/or talented, Radio Active 89FM is extremely pleased as a blooming pohutukawa that 2 mixes were accepted for international broadcast, one by the legendary Jewel School team of Zen and AhUm (Saturdays 7-9pm), and the other by our own Programme Director, Direkt Drive Host (Thursdays 4-7pm) and Homebass crew member (Thursday 11pm-1am) - Carlito aka DJ Grasshopper? with his session being broadcast through the above stations to the world this week!!!
