Home crowd support sought for Shark attack
Auckland, New Zealand, August 7, 2001 – The Vodafone Warriors return to Ericsson Stadium this Saturday night for their Round 23 clash against the Cronulla Sharks and coach Daniel Anderson is looking for vocal home support to stop the momentum of the Sharks.
“Although we were able to win away from home against Penrith, the players enjoy playing at Ericsson, especially before their loyal supporters. The home crowd has been extremely vocal and that’s the way my guys like it. I hope a big crowd turns up, makes plenty of noise and creates an atmosphere visiting teams dread,” said Anderson.
Stability and consistency have been a feature of team selection over the past few weeks and an injury-free run against Penrith has allowed Anderson to name an unchanged line-up for this Saturday night.
“We came out of the Penrith game with no injuries which is great news because it allows everyone to train this week. Although we play three of our last four games at Ericsson, the focus for the team must remain on the game immediately at hand. We have set and achieved small goals all season and we will not get carried away with the fact that we are still in-touch with the top-eight.”
Daniel Anderson has named the following team to take on the Cronulla Sharks:
1. Ivan
Cleary
2. Henry Faafili
3. Wairangi Koopu
4.
Clinton Toopi
5. Francis Meli
6. Motu Tony
