HANDLE THE JANDAL
NZ Music Video Night at the Embassy
Monday 30th July, 8pm
Open to all those with a need to unleash their creative juices upon an up-for-it NZ Music Video lovin' audience, 38 fresh NZ Music Videos were received in this year's competition, with 14 shortlisted for the audience vote.
Unfettered by government funding grants, these icons of the modern era showcase a quintessential snapshot of the undiscovered breadth and quality of NZ music.
While the audience has the power to bias the vote for their favourite to win the golden jandal, specialist awards are decided by industry moguls - Chris Graham (2D Film), Dean Lyon (Oktobor), Rueben Sutherland (Fat Films) & Miles Buckingham (Cinemania on Radio Active 89FM).
Alongside the 2001 b.net music award video category nominees, sometime Breakfast hosts Reginald & Peregrin, some extra visual goodies and singalong tuba trio covers band The Thongmakers, this occasion also promises to be an extraordinary evening which combines New Zealanders' passion for homegrown music & homegrown music videos... as to be experienced on the big, big screen.
Radio Active 89FM is proud to be the instigator for fresh indigenous creative talent - linking visual kiwi wizardry to audio kiwi mastery.
