NEW GM Set To Fire Up Male Magazine Site
Monday 30 April 2001
Andrew Mobberley takes on GM role at fire-engine.co.nz
A trans-Tasman move for New Zealand’s only online male magazine site, www.fire-engine.co.nz is only a short time away according to new General Manager, Mr Andrew Mobberley.
Mr Mobberley was recently appointed to the newly created role of General Manager and reports through to ITM Digital CEO, Mr Stephen Herstell. His key objective will be to support the transition of fire-engine from a content site, to an integrated e-business and multi-media offering.
Andrew comes to the role with a strong background in management consultancy, property development and e-business.
“To be successful, a magazine-style site must build a strong community and fire-engine already has a loyal and established consumer audience”, said Andrew. “We are looking to provide tangible brand benefits for our sponsors, and there are a number of new and exciting initiatives currently being developed, including e-business opportunities.
“As well as working in partnership with both our audience and sponsors - Lion Red and Sony - to deliver New Zealand’s most popular male site, we are also looking at tapping into the Australian market and building a fire-engine offer aimed at the Aussie male.”
www.fire-engine.co.nz was launched in October 2000 and features sports news, movie and game reviews, music updates, the very popular fire babes and other lifestyle information.
Andrew said: “We are focused on providing a site tailored to the New Zealand male and therefore try to feature Kiwi girls rather than international models, on our most popular section, Fire Babes. We actively encourage participation and feedback, and would love to receive more photos from girls wanting to feature on our site!”.
