Warriors Back-to-Back Challenge Against Knights

Warriors Face Back-to-Back
Challenge Against Knights
Auckland, New Zealand, March
27, 2001 – The big question facing the Vodafone Warriors
this weekend is, whether the team can put back-to-back wins
together when it meets the Newcastle Knights in Sydney on
Saturday?
Coming off last week’s thrilling 13-12 win against the Broncos, the Vodafone Warriors are up against a team that last weekend effectively put the Melbourne Storm away in the first half and coasted to a 36-28 win.
“There’s no hangover from last week’s game,” said Vodafone Warriors Coach Daniel Anderson. “The players know that they won’t have the crowd behind them at Marathon Stadium.
“On the positive side we’ve begun to show that we can play competitive football and there’s some depth to the squad. We’re learning to do the basics right, hang tough and protect a lead. We’ll need all that against Newcastle. The Storm did us no favours by coming back at them in the second half. They’ll be a much tougher proposition this Saturday.
“This round takes us past the first quarter of the competition. We’re in touch with the leaders and we’re still improving. We’ve begun to attract some attention in Sydney, which won’t make our job any easier.”
The Vodafone Warriors will take on the Newcastle Knights in Round 7 of the NRL competition at Marathon Stadium Saturday, March 31, 5.30pm (Sydney time). The team line up will be:
