Warriors Face Stern Challenge Against Broncos

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Warriors Face Stern Challenge
Against Bucking Broncos

Auckland, New Zealand, March 20, 2001 – Vodafone Warriors take on one of the inform NRL teams, the Brisbane Broncos, this Saturday evening at Ericsson Stadium.

It will be an extremely tough and challenging game for the Vodafone Warriors. The highly rated Brisbane Broncos are coming off a comprehensive 42-8 home victory against one of the pre season favourites, the Newcastle Knights last weekend. In the same round the Vodafone Warriors suffered a narrow 24-30 loss against the much fancied Paramatta Eels.

“We’re under no misapprehension about how tough this game will be,” says Vodafone Warriors coach, Daniel Anderson. “The Broncos have again shown this season they are class side and we can’t afford to let them get away from the outset, if we are to deliver the result our fans want.

“None of the players need reminding that no-one in the Warriors jersey has beaten the Brisbane side. The boys will need to play quality football for the full 80 minutes to have a realistic chance of winning.

“However, I am confident based on our past performances that we can take the game to the Brisbane side on the night. We will have a game plan in place that will aim to restrict a number of their key players and allow our game breakers to take effect.”
“The next couple of weeks are crucial for all teams,” adds Anderson. “This Saturday evening will be a great test for the team and we’ll see how much we have progressed since the opening game of the season.”
