Celebrity support for Kirkcaldie Charity Night
Celebrity support for Kirkcaldie and Stains Annual Charity Night
Wellington department store Kirkcaldie and Stains are hosting their annual Charity Christmas shopping night on Tuesday 5th December with all $5 entry charges going to the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind (RNZFB).
The store has lots of activities and special promotions planned for the evening, which starts at 6pm and runs until 9pm.
One of their activities is a Christmas tree trimming competition. Three local celebrities have been invited to compete - Justin Du Fresne (Newstalk ZB presenter), Norm Hewitt (Lions Rugby captain) and Prime Minister Helen Clark. The three will be in store decorating their trees - to especially appeal to the sight-impaired - from about 6.30pm until 7pm.
Until the 18 December, store customers will then have a chance to vote for the tree that they like the most with a gold coin. One lucky voter will win their tree and have it grace their home for Christmas.
Also attending the evening are two of Wellington's local guide dogs (with their owners), who will be in store giving their Christmas wish list to Santa. Entertainment is being provided by pianist and Foundation member, Shaun Johnson.
Dianne Armstrong, RNZFB Fundraiser for the Wellington region says, "We are really pleased to have Kirkcaldie and Stains support and we are equally thrilled to get agreement from our three local celebrities.
"Christmas is a great time of the year for people get together to give to those who are not as fortunate as themselves.
"We're looking forward to a fun evening and we hope that people will enjoy the Christmas atmosphere that Kirkcaldie and Stain's have created."
