Great Northern Debate Sure To Please
Should the seat of government be returned to Russell?
Some people think the Government hasn’t made much headway since it left Russell or Kororareka over 140 years ago. And now, if a group of Russell people have their way, there’s moves afoot to “Bring Back the Beehive”.
At this charity event on Saturday 23 September, Northland celebrities and some old faces will be debating the issue with heat and with humour. The team is well balanced – young and old (Dare we call our MP, John Carter, old?), Mäori and pakeha, and male and female. Hoots mon, they have even captured a kilted Scots tourist!
Who will the winners be? Will you help us decide?
The Great Northern Debate in the Russell Town Hall has Ray Woolf as MC for the night. He will also entertain us with a song or two from his repertoire.
It’s going to be an evening of fun and hilarity – and for only $20.00 a ticket, who could ask for more! Tickets are on sale now from Russell Bookshop or Enterprise Russell, with all proceeds to local non-profit organisations.
