Loop New Issue Out Monday

The latest issue of LOOP hits the stands on Monday. On top of the customary serving of thought-provoking articles and reviews, bold fashion and of course the LOOP CD/CDrom, look forward to the following in the May/June issue:

CREATIVE CULTURE

Everyone has heard the hype about the Knowledge Economy. LOOP pushes it further, exploring Aotearoa's under-hyped and under-funded Creative Culture. We explain why the two go in hand, continuing our mission to uncover New Zealand's brightest talent.

Feature article The Wave collects the thoughts of 60 of Aotearoa's most exciting musical talents - New Zealand's largest gathering of artists in one article, accompanied by the addition of over 80 MP3s to our website loop-e.com. LOOP talks to musicians from the established (Shihad, King Kapisi, Strawpeople) to those who have only just begun their search for fame and fortune. They talk candidly about their careers, what inspires them, the deal with quotas and the future of Kiwi music.

We also give you an insiders look at our windy, wired and weird city: meeting up with filmmakers, authors, animators and actors for a complete guide to Wellington and New Zealand's seriously creative culture.

MULTIMEDIA

For the fourth consecutive issue, LOOP delivers a CD of the best music from all over the country – 12 home-grown tracks from artists including Bic and Boh Runga; Dave Dobbyn; The Nomad; Che Fu and King Kapisi with MC OJ and the Rhythm Slave; Mark de Clive Lowe; and some newcomers you're about to hear a lot more from.
