Christchurch City Council is proposing to erect a sculpture of a giant chalice in the Cathedral Square this year as part of the celebrations for the new millennium.
The artwork - like so many public art works - is loved by many and hated by others with one prominent architect recently suggesting that it reminds him of the giant carrot in Ohakune.
