Revolutionary Communication Kits Break Telco Mould

Published: Fri 15 Oct 1999 03:39 PM
CLEAR Communications has broken the mould in New Zealand telecommunications marketing with the launch today of a revolutionary package that offers business customers a broad range of products for a flat-monthly charge.
Communications Kits steer away from traditional per minute pricing, instead giving customers a monthly bundle of minutes that can be used on up to six of CLEAR's most popular product offerings.
CLEAR's Business Portfolio Manager Steve Jackson said the kits are a complete package covering the overall telecommunications needs of approximately 80 percent of CLEAR's small to medium sized business customers.
"The Kits offer businesses a one-stop communications package which enhances the certainty, simplicity and value they are getting out of their services," said Jackson. "Customers are able to look at their overall communications requirements and set their own product, minute and cost boundaries.
"Communications Kits have the same appeal as an all-inclusive resort holiday. You can get exactly what you need, without the uncertainty and distraction of an unknown bill at the end.
"Usually different products have varying charges and time restrictions, however with communications kits every call within the kit is the same. For example, a toll call to Wellington could be the same as sending a fax to Australia or calling a cell phone from the office. This takes the complexity out of communications services as well as being more cost effective for businesses, who will be able to determine exactly how much they spend on services per month," said Jackson.
Communications Kits work in the same way that customers think about their communications services, rather than the way communications companies have traditionally marketed them, said Jackson.
Three Kits (National, Link and Link Plus) are being introduced to the business market offering a variety of minute and pricing options.
The products available in the kits include National toll; International tolls to Australia, USA, UK and Canada; calls to mobile phones; CLEAR Fax; CLEAR Card and CLEAR Net usage.
Business customers can choose from between 200 to 1500 minutes per month. In addition the Link Plus Kit provides for either 12, 25 or 35 hours of Internet access via CLEAR Net on top of normal communications minutes.
The kits will be available for business customers from Monday October 18.
