Sky Loses Replay Rights To News And Holmes

Published: Tue 21 Sep 1999 02:07 PM
TV ONE has today advised SKY Network Television Ltd of its intention to withdraw the rights to replay One Network News and Holmes.
General Manager of TV ONE, Shaun Brown, says the action has been taken in light of the new commercial alliance between CanWest and Sky.
“It does not seem appropriate to continue to supply SKY with our programming any longer,” he says.
Mr Brown says now that TV ONE broadcasts five hours of live news and current affairs around the clock each weekday, there is more viewer access to news coverage than ever before.
