Employers Urged To Complete Details

Published: Thu 16 Sep 1999 03:24 PM
Workplace insurer At Work today urged its remaining employer customers to confirm insurance details with it so they could receive the accident insurance that best suited their business, at the correct price.
Marketing General Manager Murray Nickel said the company would soon start invoicing the last group of its customers for their workplace insurance premium. However several thousand of the employers who were part of the group automatically assigned to At Work have yet to return vital information which was necessary for the company to strike the correct premium.
"At Work wants to charge its customers the right amount for the insurance cover we provide - but we need employers to confirm information such as workforce category, staff numbers and current workplace safety practices. Employers are the only ones who have all the information we need.
"This information is important so we can ascertain whether employers are following the best safety practices for their workplace. It also allows us to invoice them accurately.
"Normally invoices are dreaded by employers, but many of At Work's customers have already been very pleased with the significant reductions in premium levels compared with ACC.
Mr Nickel said he understood that many employers were preoccupied with other activities, but that workplace safety was essential and it was very important that those employers who had not yet confirmed their workplace arrangements did so.
"There has been a great deal of communication sent to employers from insurers, the Government and the Regulator. Employers need to spend just a few minutes completing the forms that have been sent, or they can contact At Work for more information."
Murray Nickel said At Work would start invoicing the final group of customers from next week and the company may have to invoice without having all the data needed from employers.
"We are keen to deliver what savings we can to our customers, but we do need their assistance.
"This is the last chance for our customers to make sure they get charged the right amount. Any employer who was unsure could phone their broker or contact At Work on 0800-63-63-63.
