Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG), the monitoring and security platform for cloud applications, has appointed Yadi Narayana as Field CTO for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ).

In this newly-created role, Narayana will leverage his more than 20 years of global experience in business development, product development and solutions engineering to advise on and deliver tailored solutions for midmarket organisations and enterprises. Working closely with Datadog’s sales and engineering teams, Narayana will identify opportunities and offer best practices to help customers and prospects apply their use of observability across cloud migration, cybersecurity and AI projects.

“It’s not easy for large companies to modernise, particularly those in highly regulated industries where there’s so much legacy and technology debt,” said Narayana. “I’ve spent the last 12 years focused on observability strategy, architecture and sales, and Datadog stands out as the best product in the market. It’s organic, seamless under the hood, and unified, allowing it to solve the vast breadth and depth of company challenges in ways that a pointed approach simply can’t. This gives me the opportunity to take an ‘outside-in’ approach to delivering the right solutions to our customers.”

Narayana rejoins Datadog, having previously led the company’s post-sales business in APJ for over three years. He has also held senior positions at companies including LaunchDarkly and AppDynamics, and has experience with telecommunications service providers in Asia and Europe.

Narayana is based in Sydney and reports to Eugene Kovnatsky, Vice President of Product Solutions Architecture and Field CTO Teams at Datadog.

Kovnatsky said, “Yadi has extensive experience in observability at large as well as deep understanding of Datadog and our platform. His technology and advisory leadership will be pivotal in delivering value, enhancing performance, and driving growth for our customers in APJ.”

Narayana’s appointment is the latest milestone in Datadog’s expansion in APJ, and follows the recent announcement of the company’s soon-to-be-opened data centre instance in Sydney, Australia. Datadog continues to add headcount across the region, spanning technical, sales and marketing roles in A/NZ, ASEAN, India, Japan and Korea. The company’s growth reflects surging demand for its monitoring and security capabilities, driven by cloud, generative AI and cybersecurity projects across private and public sector organisations of all sizes and industries.

“We are seeing demand for strategic thought leadership from our customers,” said Rob Thorne, Vice President for APJ at Datadog. “Adding Yadi’s deep expertise in observability and security to our team is paramount to helping those organisations navigate complex challenges and tackle new opportunities.”
