Auckland, NZ – 1 May 2025 – As temperatures drop and winter sets in, many families across Aotearoa are facing the season without the essentials need to stay warm. In response, Visionwest has launched its annual Winter From The Heart campaign to provide critical winter support to those most in need.
With the rising cost of living continuing to put pressure on household budgets, more whānau are being forced to make difficult choices, often between heating their homes and buying food. For some, even warm bedding, children’s pyjamas, and basic winter clothing are out of reach.
Winter From The Heart is a call to action, encouraging Kiwis to come together and wrap families in warmth this winter. Through community generosity, the campaign provides practical support such as cosy pyjamas, warm blankets, and winter essentials for children and families experiencing material hardship.
“Right now, 1 in 8 children in New Zealand are living in homes where even the basics are unaffordable,” says Brook Turner, Director of Partnerships at Visionwest. “Every donation to Winter From The Heart directly helps a family get through the cold months with dignity and warmth.”
