Car Seat Cover Industry Sees Exponential Growth

As the world teeters on yet another global recession, average New Zealand households are having to find ways of saving money. That, in conjunction with the ever-increasing push to ‘go green’, has led many New Zealanders to reconsider their approach to car use and maintenance.

One of the results of this current shift in attitudes and necessity has been exceptional growth in the car seat cover sector. Car seat covers help to prolong the life of car seat upholstery by protecting it from stains, dirt, wear-and-tear, and UV damage. The impact of investing in car seat covers is, then, that car owners can get far more years out of their cars’ interiors, which helps them to save money, drive their cars for longer, and, thereby, reduce the negative impact that new car manufacturing or reupholstering car seats can have on the environment. Better protected seats also mean a generally higher price at resale or trade-in, which further benefits cost-saving endeavours.

But the car seat cover industry is not only seeing growth as a result of offering consumers the option of prolonging the life of their vehicles’ interiors. The growth has also been linked to the improvements made to the kinds of covers available for purchase. Modern sleek and interesting designs, more ergonomically sound options, and the use of far more environmentally friendly materials in the manufacturing process has led to more car owners investing in the likes of Rugged Valley car seat covers as a way to make especially longer car journeys as comfortable as possible. The car seat cover market has also expanded to provide purposeful solutions for pet owners and parents of young children.

For companies specialising in the car seat cover industry, the current growth in the market spells a bright future, as more New Zealanders seek out these products.
