BlinkPay Signs With Westpac
Māori fintech start-up Blink Pay Global Group Ltd today announces the signing of its latest API (Application Programming Interface) Agreement with Westpac New Zealand Limited.
The agreement adds the ability for Westpac customers to securely make online payments from their bank accounts via BlinkPay.
“We’re thrilled to work with Westpac, and excited at the prospect of helping their customers make digital payments with BlinkPay. I’m also heartened by the fact that one of their key drivers is a shared vision to help those struggling daily as the cost-of-living crisis deepens. We are hoping to also bring our other products to market with Westpac that enable better financial management as we believe this will greatly reduce the stress faced by many households” says BlinkPay Chief Executive and founder Daniel Karehana (Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Paoa).
Notes Karehana, “Westpac represents the third major trading bank that has signed and will be available on our platform and we’re really excited about the momentum we are building.”
BlinkPay Chief Product Officer Adrian Smith (Ngāpuhi) says, “This means that if you are integrated with the Blink debit payment gateway, you’ll be able to take payments from Westpac customers now.”
Continues Karehana “Of course none of this would have been possible without the continued support of the Westpac team, and we thank everyone who helped us throughout”.
