About the Trusts
The Waitakere Licensing Trust and Portage Licensing Trust have responsibility for the sale of alcohol in some retail
outlets and hospitality venues within a set geographic boundary in West Auckland. Established by a community vote, they
are collectively known as The Trusts.
The Trusts are community-owned and governed, with the aim of giving back to West Auckland.
Given the proximity of the two licensing trust districts, the Trusts merged their operational and management functions,
such as HR, accounting, marketing and logistics to streamline operations. West Auckland Trust Services Ltd is the
management company where these merged functions sit.
