House Of Travel’s Excellence In Cruise Recognized With Multiple Awards

17 February 2020 – House of Travel were proud to receive four awards at the CLIA Cruise Industry Awards on Saturday, adding to the four awarded at the Scenic Luxury Tours and Cruise Awards earlier this month.
The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia celebrate excellence in the industry and bring together the brightest stars from Australia and New Zealand to recognize outstanding achievements from the year.
House of Travel took home four of the major awards at 19th Annual Cruise Industry Awards last night, taking out the Cruise Month Promotion of the year for Australasia. Lorraine Van Veen from Botany was awarded Cruise Consultant of the Year for New Zealand and Charlotte Chalman from Gore has been titled the Rising Star for New Zealand.
House of Travel General Manager Cruise, Jeff Leckey, who was recognized as Cruise Champion Australasia at the CLIA awards, says, “As a company, we have really committed to upskilling our team and cruise specialists. In 2018 we set an objective of having more CLIA qualified staff than any other brand in New Zealand; not only have we achieved that but we have surpassed our own goals and have increased cruise masters 130%, cruise ambassadors 172% and accredited consultants 96%.
Scenic are a world-renowned luxury cruise and tour operator with over 30 years as an industry leader. At the 2020 Scenic Awards, House of Travel took home the top three spots in the Top New Zealand Outlet category, with Papamoa, Te Awamutu and Rotorua placing first, second and third respectively. All ten nominations for this coveted award were from House of Travel, an impressive feat that illustrates the company-wide commitment to excellence in the Cruise industry.
Shelley Rich, from House of Travel Mt Maunganui, was named Top New Zealand Consultant. Four of the five nominations in this category were from House of Travel.
