Custom-Pak Takes a Strong Stand on Plastic Pollution and Plastic Waste
In the first-ever ‘New Plastics Economy Global Commitment’ report, Custom-Pak Plastic Products (1997) Ltd has declared our commitment to a circular economy for plastics, where plastics never become waste.
Published by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy initiative, in collaboration with UN Environment, the
report is a way for major companies and plastics businesses to publicly make commitments and set targets for preventing
plastic pollution, reducing plastic waste and increasing the re-use of plastic.
The NZ Ministry for the Environment is one of the 16 government signatories for the report and Custom-Pak is one of only
two New Zealand businesses that have participated; the other is New Zealand King Salmon. We’re in good company
internationally; other business signatories include Philips, Stanley Black & Decker, Coca-Cola, Tetra Pak and Woolworths.
We want to be the most responsible plastics manufacturer in New Zealand and set an example for others to follow.
Currently, our products are almost all made from RPET (recycled PET). Now we plan to do even more to reduce plastic
pollution and plastic waste.
