Techweek19 is set to open on 20 May with a launch event featuring with keynote presentations and panel discussions by
entrepreneurs and companies leading the way in Clean and Creative technology, with keynote speakers Aliesha Staples and Dr Sean Simpson announced today.
Staples VR founder Aliesha Staples will discuss how the creative sector is interconnected and the importance technology
plays to ensures its continuation. Aliesha and a panel will also touch on how to ensure those under-represented in tech
are involved in the development of the sector.
Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of LanzaTech Dr Sean Simpson returns home to New Zealand for his keynote on
Clean Tech, focusing on how innovation can assist us as we work to preserve New Zealand’s natural beauty and resources.
A short panel discussion will follow each keynote, with the keynote speakers joined by panelists:
Creative Tech: Bradley Scott (FaceMe), Maru Nihoniho (Metia Interactive), Tim Carr (Mindkits),
Clean Tech: Bill Currie (Powerhouse Wind), Imche Fourie (Level Two), Kosala Gunawardane (AUT), and Will Barker (Mint
Innovation).
Techweek19 will be officially opened by Minister of Research, Science and Innovation, Hon Dr Megan Woods. Tickets are
