The 11th annual Property Brokers Relay for Life Charity Auction took place on Thursday April 4, in Havelock North.
Over 500 people attended the event, where 66 items were auctioned off, plus an addition 34 items in a silent auction.
Hawke’s Bay Regional Manager, Guy Mordaunt says, “Hundreds crowded into the Peak Vision Church in Havelock North to have a great time and bid up large on items from chainsaws and bikes, through to holidays.”
More than $88,000 was raised, with every cent going to The Cancer Society.
“This amazing result wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of the incredible Property Brokers team, our generous sponsors and supporters, and the wonderful Hawkes Bay community who put their hands in their pocket to support this wonderful cause,” says Mordaunt.
“We are very proud of the efforts of our team and delighted with the support of the Hawke’s Bay community for this great cause. This was the first week on the job for our new Regional Manager, Joe Snee, so it was the perfect introduction for him to what Property Brokers is all about,” says Chief Operating Officer, Bill Highet.
“Personally, I was blown away by the quality of the auction items which ranged from original local artwork, to amazing weekends away, to money-can’t-buy experiences, like a tug boat ride guiding a cruise ship into the Napier Port!” says Snee.
Guy Mordaunt was the auctioneer during the evening, with Residential Sales Consultant, Kevin Wagg, as the Master of Ceremonies.
The final total raised is yet to be announced, with money still coming in.
