WOF ALERT – Cambridge Auto Electric 2017 Ltd suspended from issuing WoFs
The NZ Transport Agency has immediately suspended vehicle inspector Oliver Wilson and his inspecting organisation
Cambridge Auto Electric 2017 Ltd in the Waikato.
During three site reviews carried out since 2017 by the NZ Transport Agency, Mr Wilson continued to display an inability
to undertake Warrant of Fitness inspections in accordance with Land Transport rules and regulations. Most seriously, he
failed to identify corrosion and seatbelt damage on a vehicle he was inspecting. Mr Wilson also failed a short theory
test, indicating poor knowledge of the Vehicle Inspection Requirements Manual.
We are unaware of specific concerns relating to other individual vehicles however, due to the poor quality of Mr
Wilson’s inspections there is a possibility that some vehicles may have been incorrectly passed. For this reason, we
strongly encourage people who have a current Warrant of Fitness issued from Cambridge Auto Electric 2017 Ltd to get their vehicle rechecked.
The NZ Transport Agency will contact around 900 affected vehicle owners individually as soon as possible to advise them
on recheck options. Vouchers will be provided.
