Wellington Health Insurer Sees Substantial Growth

Wellington based not for profit health insurance specialist Accuro claim that their recent 40% growth has gone hand in hand with world first innovation and best in class customer service, and they have major awards to prove it.
“We experienced 40% growth last year, which is an exceptional result in the current market conditions,” says Geoff Annals, CEO of Accuro Health Insurance. “It is way above the industry average and I believe is down to our focus on customer experience and innovation.” In the last year, Accuro was the only health insurer to experience real growth, with almost 5,000 more people taking out cover and 40% growth in sales compared to the previous year, against an industry growth of lives covered of just 1.4%*.
Customer service matters, according to Annals. In the 2018 Consumer Magazine health insurance survey announced just before Christmas, Accuro outshone it’s six competitors with a significantly higher proportion of happy customers. Since 2008, Accuro has consistently been recommended by Consumer in every health insurance report for best price and cover and have excelled in their most recent customer satisfaction surveys.
“We have proved we can deliver what people actually want; simple, quick, hassle free, underwritten health insurance that allows people to arrange things easily and get on with their busy lives.”
In November, Accuro won the Innovation of the Year prize at the New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards. HUGO is the world’s first online health insurance underwriting tool. The judges praised HUGO for; “…its easy-to-use design and its ability to improve the customer experience and enhance the efficiency of internal processes.” The judges recognised that this innovation yields; “tangible benefits for both customers and the organisation.”
“We’re not resting on our laurels either,” adds Geoff Annals. “We are also putting the health back in health insurance; Accuro is developing active benefits as part of everyday cover. So far that includes access to 50,000 worldwide specialists through Best Doctors, free bowel screening and early skin cancer detection.”
“There’s more to come,” he says.
