She’ll be right (maybe)
Too many New Zealanders have a ‘she’ll be right’ attitude when it comes to risk says Partners Life Managing Director Naomi Ballantyne.
“Research shows that Kiwis are incredibly under-insured. Sure, they cover their home and car. But what about the most important things – their life and health?”
“New Zealand ranks second lowest in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for the rate of insurance coverage across its population,” says Ms Ballantyne.
Partners Life has launched Get Life Right, a funny yet thought-provoking new campaign, to address this issue.
“We want to spark a major conversation with New Zealanders about the importance of risk and taking responsibility for themselves and their families.”
“The campaign is about educating people. The ads don’t say ‘buy now’, or recommend a product. They are designed to raise the tide of awareness of the risks people face in their daily lives.”
“We will measure the success of the campaign by the growth of the overall insurance market over time for all providers.”
“There are several things we learned when we looked into the perceptions of New Zealanders as we planned this campaign. We learned that New Zealanders care a lot about the people around them – their families and friends. But when it came to their own health and welfare they were less attentive.”
“Kiwis also tend to overstate the control we have and therefore understate the risk that surrounds us.”
“Alongside the public campaign, we’ve built an adviser platform, called Evince, that will help advisers provide clear, consistent and professional advice to consumers. We’re supporting advisers with Evince so that they can educate consumers to make better decisions with transparent, visual representations of the risks they face.”

results. We hope they prompt more Kiwis to take a good look
at protecting the things that matter most.”
